I took this photo up around the Capitol Hill district of Seattle. I’d been in America for a couple of days by that point (my first trip) and was disappointed by how European-looking all the cars were, so immediately snapped this motor.
I stumbled across these incredible sketches by Gabi Campanario of his day to day in Seattle. His Flickr page is below. Well worth checking out.
I stopped to watch a game at this court known as the cage (West 4th and Washington sq.) while on holiday last summer.
It’s a tiny court so the ballers are pretty physical, and not much pretty basketball gets played from what I saw. Hustle!
Two very different Atlantic Roads, but both iconic.
Atlantic Road in Norway is an engineering feat, connecting communities and areas of land by a raised road. I would love to drive on that!
Atlantic Road in Brixton has been a market street since the 19th century (it was the first established part of Brixton market in the 1870s) – every year it’s now home to the Brixton Splash festival with pop-up soundsystems and food stalls. Goodtimes.
This was taken after the annual St Patrick’s day parade in Chicago in Grant Park a few years ago. Further down the road they’d dyed the entire river green – they take their Irish roots seriously in this city.
A brilliant neighbourhood vibes video from Shabazz Palaces (Sub Pop) from 2010, all done in one shot.
Check out their LP “Black Up” for similarly down-beat confusing, but damn good, tunes. (Sub Pop, 2011)
This track has been around for some time now, but I’m looking forward to an album from Dauwd sometime in 2013 (hopefully).
There’s some interesting dance music coming out of London, and South London especially. @dauwd
